Visual Self Portrait
This is an example of some of my student work while at the School of Visual Arts. This was a graphic design assignment to create a visual self portrait in any medium. Because I was learning to animate with Flash at the time, I decided to create an interactive piece. I focused on the concept that I tend to get totally absorbed in whatever I'm doing at the time. The title, "Ensnaring Exposures," reflects the idea that I tend to get sucked in to the project at hand and the visuals use light line weights to evoke a laser focus. Each item is a task or activity and, when clicked, the wheel would spin and reveal a percentage of time spent in a week. Of course, because I was 'ensnared' I then carried this over to other mediums, including a poster and printed coffee table style book.
